We believe in barrier-free media

Our name

The name All Senses Go is a nod to the idiom “all systems go” which indicates that everything is ready, so now the task at hand can proceed. We believe that no film or piece of media is ready to share without taking the necessary steps to ensure that all audiences can perceive the story being told. This means putting energy, care and creativity into the design of equitable experiences for people both with and without disabilities.

Who we are

We are a network of consultants and collaborators that includes artists and scholars who identify as disabled, d/Deaf, and neurodiverse, as well as accessibility providers and non-disabled media professionals who care passionately about creating a more equitable media landscape.

Our mission

Our mission is to create barrier-free media that engages a wider audience in the rich cultural content that is being shared every day.

All Senses Go is committed to ensuring that disabled, blind, d/Deaf, and Neurodiverse audiences and filmmakers are considered, prioritized, and seen as both crucial and vital for inclusion in audio-visual culture. We strive to develop and test pathways to access, using any and all tools available, including subtitles and captions, image descriptions, sign language interpretation, universal design, web accessibility, plain language, clear way-finding, and sensory friendly considerations.

What we do

Accessibility testing and audience feedback

We recruit and subcontract with local disabled artists to screen, critique, attend and participate in your accessible cinematic experience, festival, or conference. We then conduct in-depth user experience interviews and consolidate feedback into a written report, which can be used by your organization to iterate, improve, and fund-raise.

Creative captioning and description

We work directly with filmmakers to ensure that captions and audio description tracks are accurate, true to a film’s intentions, and poetic (simultaneously concise and vivid). We are a ‘small batch’ post production house, meaning that we bring care and craftsmanship to a small number of projects each year.

Education and consultation

We provide tailor-made consultation with your staff to help you design strategies for organizational growth related to accessibility practices. We can also serve as your Event Access Coordinator, connecting you to the best local service providers, including audio describers, sign language interpreters, real-time transcribers, and more.
